My Vision for Springwater

A First Nation person once gave me some advice. He said, “When you do something important, consider the impact that your action will have seven generations from now”. In other words short term solutions, with no vision, are like planting seeds in sand.

People have told me that I am always coming up with new ideas about how things can be improved. As Mayor of Springwater, I have brought ideas that are of paramount importance to you and me. I want my second term and our next council to continue to respond to what you think is right for Springwater, today, tomorrow and for generations to come. I think in this term we have been doing that, which many tell me is a breath of fresh air.

This election, is again about leadership and the need to take a firm grasp of the reins. Leadership without Vision is called Management. We need great Managers but they need to be led by great leaders who have a vision to achieve organizational goals and objectives.

You will no doubt hear other candidates bestow their concept of leadership, which to them are words, based on no real practical experience. I will bring my 40 years of business experience, five years on the Committee of Adjustment, six years attending council and planning meetings, prior to my election of Mayor in 2014. That is 15 years of direct involvement with the workings of the Township. No one has the experience or ability to do the job as well as I have and will continue to do.

I will lead council through our shared vision, which we have enshrined in our Strategic Plan that was developed by this Council under my leadership. It is a Vision based on what you the people have been asking for in Springwater; a vision not of massive city style growth, but of steady economic growth based on agricultural production and small industry; not of letting farms be replaced by mega urban settlements, but of steering sensible expansion to all Springwater hamlets and villages.

Together we will continue to build a solid, stable, low tax, high service environment in Springwater. We will continue to remember its rich and unique character and will protect our enviable lifestyle. Together we will balance the Economic, Environmental and Social needs of Springwater and progressively move forward to the benefit of all residents regardless of where we live. I ask that you support me in my bid and re-elect me for one more term to finish thee job that has been started. Vote French for Mayor on October 22.
